Bought an SE in the beginning of Sept w/80k on it. Fantastic car!
Am about at 81.7k now and the service engine soon light has been coming on fairly steadily. We have a Midas about three minutes away and I've taken it in there each time. First time, car was running OK but starting up roughly. It was the o2 sensors - one was dead and the other was LOOSE. He tightened the loose one up and installed a new one. Car *was* running OK before but improvement was very noticable.
Light came back on about a week or so after the fact. This time there was no loss of power immediately before it as there was with the o2 sensors... brought it back in, they said it was a "memory code" and shut it off.
And now it's back on.
So, following the ECU instructions, I'm going to see what codes I get in a few minutes. I guess my question is, since Midas hasn't found anything (and this is a very good one) and the car is running perfectly, could it just be a malfunctining SES light?
Thanks for any responses... I absolutely love the car, the best I've ever driven. I'll find those codes though and see if I can't get to the bottom of this.
