Engine Number Format

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the format used by Nissan for their 1999 A32 Nissan Maxima's please?

Was it:

9AA+AA99999

where:

9 = number A = letter

TIA

The engine they had (in the USA) was the VQ30DE. If I'm not mistaken, the VQ is the series of the engine, in other parts of the world they had a VQ20DE and VQ25DE, the 2 numbers represent the displacement, 3.0 litres in case of the american Maxima, D for dual overhead cams, and E for fuel injection.

Hey CD,

Thanks for that. Yeah, I have since found out that it was a VQ30DE here in Australia as well. Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Sido
