Pulled the Codes P0138/P0139 From Maxima 2000

The list says it's OC2 sensor (both of the codes). How hard it is to change, and how much is it? Could it be not tighten gas cap or anything simple like that?

Try first resetting ECU.

With proper tools should be very easy.

Then went to PepBoys and bought a scanner, pulled mentioned codes, and erased them. Wondering now if they will comeback. :) The only thing I did before they are appeared, is put some gas in. (89 octane rating). About half a tank later it popped my MIL. Maybe its the bad fuel or the gas cap wasn't tight, but we will see. The car just passed smog last month, so I doubt it is anything serious. If it stays on (MIL), oh well, I guess California can handle one more year of higher emmisions. :) If you guys still have any suggestions, they are welcome. Thanks.

Err code for O2 differs from EVAP (cap) code. Low octane may cause ign retard ,via knock sensor input, shouldnt (?) give any err code.

After certain drive sequence without error conditions, the lamp goes off; seek/read suggested link explainin also P0138/P0139.

Low charge voltage, connector/gnd oxidation may cause 'anythin', see pages 10&14:

the gas prices right now (In Los Angeles California, I am looking at 3.30$ per gallon for 89) I ran the last tank dry (not to the stop, but the needle was really low). I've read that the MIL can light because of that too. Well, it is off now, let's see if its stays off. I've noticed NO change in performance of the car with SES light on, so I will sit back, and see what will happen. I'll update the post if anything changes. By the way, Wiikinki, thanks for a detailed help. :)

Your gas is enviously cheap!

Here gas is 6½$ per gallon, incometax 5x, income
