How do you do this correctly ? The previous owner had a sun shade coating installed ( = plastic ) and now it starts to peel off, reducing visibility a lot. The only true fix is to peel off the entire plastic coating which I can't do from the inside. Are there any instructions how to take off & reassemble the read window, preferably on the 'net?

If you're only trying to remove the tint on the glass, you DON'T take out the entire window! Use ammonia solution, homemade or commercial tint remover. Soak some paper towels and put them against the plastic, hold them there with some towels or something and let them do their thing for a while. Then it will come right off. If you can't figure this out, a tint shop will charge relatively little to remove the tint.
