On returning from a week abroad my 406 would not start.
Although the engine would turn over and there was fuel in the filter, no fuel appeared to get to the engine.
The heater lights did not come on at all and despite the efforts of two breakdown mechanics I had to be recovered to home.
Has anyone an idea of what the problem could be ?

If it is diesel, check that the relay for the heater plugs is working.
In the bad old days before heater plugs you started a diesel by pressing the accelerator to the floor and running the starter continuously. After a minute or two the engine starts to kick as if it is trying to run. You still keep the pedal to the floor and the starter running until the engine actually starts to rev. I had to revert to this method last year when the heaters went on my wife's 306. So long as you have a good battery it will work. Doing it this way will tell you if the problem is indeed the heater plugs.

Whats smoke now days??dealt if anybody wounld care about it .i know i wounld not care as long he did not sit there reving the engine .and it was my day off work and i was trying to sleep. so go for it let it smoke..
