CD on 406 suddenly stopped working

Hi all,

I have a 406 Exec model with a 6 CD autochanger factory fitted in the boot. It was working perfectly yesterday until I stopped the car for ten minutes. On restarting the car, no CD input. In the boot, I cannot remove the CD carrier and no leds are alight. I guess that the permanent 12V feed is missing or something worse. Before I struggle to take it out, is there a fuse that this feed uses? I should say the radio and cassette still work perfectly.

Many thanks Robin

Thanks for the suggestion, but it is bone dry. Th player worked for 20 minutes before I stopped in a car park then ten minutes later when I switched the system back on, no CD! It wasn't raining either during the journey. I shall take it out and check the cable feeding it but I thought I would first ask if anyone knew of an in line fuse or if the feed is fused somewhere else.

Apologies to Mindwipe. On examining the Cd Autochanger, the cover at the bottom of the unit had some corrosion on it and the small pcb inside it had two in line filters that looked fried and also touching each other. This could well have been caused by a small amount of moisture or condensation, although it wasn't full of water.
