On my 406 HDi I thought everything was running a bit smoothly!! Its not always coming out of gear right but quite a firm hit of the selector gets it where i want it to be. This has happened probably 12 times in the last 2 days.
Could it be the linkages or something simple like that?

As always it was more complicated - i opened the front and the oil filler cap had come off - oil had gone everywhere in my engine and the cap was stuck in the gear linkage!
A new filler cap and steam clean later.... everything is good.
