Has anyone changed the coolant on their 306? I tried...but I can't find a drain plug on the rad. Also, the Haynes manual mentions having to drain the engine block seperately.
Any help appreciated!

Normally you need to take off the bottom hose and let it drain. But on a 306 that is very difficult. So, follow the bottom hose to where it connects to the rear of the engine and disconnect from there. That will drain the block too. Messy, but a damn sight easier than the rad hose!!
Not sure about the HDi model but on a Phase One 1.8 model there is a drain plug at the nearside bottom. Just quarter turn with your hand. Strange they shouldn't provide one on your model.
I had a look today - Is this tucked up behind the offside driveshaft?
Yes, there seems to be a 'moulding' of a drain tap, but I couldn't get it to do anything. Tried turning, pulling, twisting, and swearing at it. Nothing worked!
I think it's a Valeo rad not a cheap one so I don't know what's going on! :-S
They deleted them from about 1998. Saves about 1p per car, which probably works out at quite a saving as they did it over the entire range!
