peugeot key re-boot!!

Hi all (again). still have same prob guys; peugeot 406 rf type (2 buttons and red led light)i bought key off ebay for my mrs and am unable to recode it to my car? have tried a few ways ie;key in ignition and pressing buttons



1 at a time and a few others with no joy!! Key inside say secondary on electronic pad? does this mean its hard coded? if so any ideas how to re-code it to my car? thanks very much!! (ps; i`m going nuts with this prob!!!) 406,1999 2l gtx 4 door saloon. my own keyfob is rf type too and works great!!

Are you using a primary keyfob to encode it with?

Thanks for answering, i dont really know what you mean! if as i think you mean is my own keyfob (the original with car)primary inside? it doesnt say on my own fob on the electronic pad,and to be honest it looks slightly diff in my key fob to the ebay one which is secondary as it says inside fob, so i`d say prob yes mine is primary! anyway to recode the secondary fob or is it to mr peugeot? Thanks very much for help/info.
