Whoever designed the 307 round an HDI

engine should be strung up by their tender parts over a very high cliff. Changing the cam belt, taken most of today and I haven't got the belt off yet. Who thought of putting the bolt holding the top belt cover at the back, where you can just get you finget tips to and no more? Took forever to get it off. Then of course you have to remove the plastic cross member above the engine to lift that part of the cover. Mr Haynes conveniently forgets this. And it took best part of an hour to get the crankshaft bolt out, it was so tight with goo, had to use a 2 foot bar on the socket, at 1/6 turn each time until it was almost completely out. At least the weather forecast for tomorrow is good.

Sound like one of those jobs that IS actually worth paying someone else to do.

Wonder what the 'book' time for this job is
