Does any body know how to disable day time running lights?

Pull the DRL fuse
Daytime running lights are one of the biggest current draws on the el cheapo Grand Am's poorly designed alternator. Its suspected that the running lights are one of the biggest causes of its failure but GM wont admit it publicly, a dealer has hinted to me that there was an internal memo about it once.
