2000 GP ac overflow leak? car has 40,000 miles

that's condensation from the evaporator. that hose you remove is the drain to the outside of the car. the hose is stopped up. inducing a little air should remedy the situation. did the dealer not offer to unplug it?

Just ran into this problem on my 2000 GP as well... Everyone I have talked with until know have been trying to convince me that it's a faulty heater core. I'm relatively glad to hear that it's not that sevear. Have any of you had success clearing it out yourselves? Will a simple blast of air from an air compresser do the trick? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

you will know if a heater core leaks...you will smell antifreeze and it will be in the floorboard

put a drop of the liquid on your finger and touch your tongue. you'll know if it's AF or not. and no, it won't harm you

Well, the GM Dealership had taken the short time to unplug the stopped up moisture each time and said there was not much else they could do. However, two weeks down the road the problem would always comeback. This time around, the dealership has spent more time looking at my problem and may have came up with a solution (We'll see). They widened the hole in which the extra moisture/water drains and put in a bigger hose. Also, they made the suggestion of using the "recirculation" button while running AC. Instead of pulling in the outside air they want me to try recirculating the air in the GP.

Same thing happened to my 2000 GTP. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the hose for free. Hasnt been a problem since. Mr.Thom

I've got the same problem on my rig over here, evap drain gets blocked not allowing proper drain of condensate.

Its a damn shame, Pontiacs been building cars for over 70 years and they cant come up with better annoying designs than this. I suggest you scour the net and get names of others having the same issues a write pontiac demanding they fix it.
