Dear Mr. Doe,
Thank you for contacting Pontiac. We acknowledge your loyalty and appreciate your interest in the 2006 Pontiac Solstice! General Motors would like to apologize for the delay in responding to your email inquiry. Your email is very important to us and we regret any inconvenience that this may have caused.
We sincerely apologize that your dealer has been unsuccessful in placing an order for your future purchase. General Motors developed a Vehicle Allocation Process that only allows a finite number of vehicles to be produced in a given year. Every dealer will have different allocation.
----------------------------------------------------------
Your current dealer allocation plan results in dealers in Chicago having more Solstices sitting on one lot than there are Solstices in the entire state of Iowa. If this is your current allocation plan, I believe I will search for a manufacturer that evenly distributes popular models rather than having regional sales managers taking kickbacks to deliver the models to big city dealers.
---------------------------------------------------------
Since first shown as a concept at the 2002 North American International Auto Show, the Pontiac Solstice has been a hit with both critics and customers. When orders were first taken in April 2005, the first thousand vehicles were sold in only 41 minutes and, to date, more than 15,000 orders have been received.
General Motors added a third shift of production at its Wilmington, Del., car assembly plant after the first of the year. By adding the third shift in January, we have increased the flow of Solstices to help fill the thousands of orders we have already received. The Pontiac Solstice is still in high demand right now; therefore, you may have trouble finding a Solstice or placing an order for one. We hope you find this information helpful, and again we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
For more updates regarding the Solstice, please continue to visit
If you need additional information or have further questions, please let us know via email or by calling Pontiac at 1-800-762-2737, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time, seven days a week. Thank you for contacting Pontiac!
Sincerely,
Patricia Marmolejo Customer Relationship Manager Pontiac

Comments : We have been trying to order a new
2006 Solstice through our local dealers here in rural Iowa for over a month now. They tell us they are unable to order new Solstices because the number of Solstices are limited by the numbers of thier total sales units.Since we live in rural Iowa all our dealers are only allowed one per model year???
If you're not going to allow us to buy your cars, why are you even advertising them?
I am 54 years old and have been a loyal Pontiac and Gm customer most of my adult life, but if you refuse to sell us automobiles because we live in a small market area, I am going to change brand loyalty.
You better get your act together, and do away with these asinine marketing schemes, before the American auto makers finally go belly up.
Reserve a plot next to the one with headstone that reads "Oldsmobile".
