Fiero has no power

Jul 12, 2005 2 Replies

Bought a used ?85 Fiero, I drove it home, about 60 miles with no problems. I parked it and didn?t touch it all winter. Eight months later I tried to start it but it had no power. I took the battery out and had it tested and it wouldn?t hold a charge so I bought a new battery.

Put the new battery in, no radio, no headlights, no dome lights, engine won?t crank. The only power I see is the two light interior door lights and they are barely visible. Tested new battery and it has full power.

Any ideas to where I should start looking for the source of my lack of power?

Not sure what to suggest, but if you post your questions at

(Pennock's Fiero Forum) I know there's someone there that can help.

Trace the battery cables to the grounds and be sure they are clean. Check the cable end on the starter and clean it as necessary.Look for any corrosion on cable battery ends built up from sitting. Maybe pull off the starter and bench test it. Just a good place to start. As I see it.
