I have a 2005 G6 with the Monsoon in-dash 6 CD changer. I copy all of my original CDs and use those copies in my vehicles so that, if one gets scratched or otherwise damaged, I can just make a new copy.
I keep getting a "CD Changer Error" when changing CDs and the dealership (service manager) is telling me that it's due to the copied CDs not being the same thickness as the original CDs.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, G6 or otherwise?

I guess the obvious question would be, does the changer work fine with the original cd's?
We've had better luck with some brands of CDr's. The ones with the shiny gold backing tend to flake off, which causes the cd to be worthless, and it lets pieces of the backing into the player. The silver TDK brand seem to work the best for us. YMMV.
If you are using stick on labels, don't. The cd's can get hot, and the label can come unstuck inside the player. We've known a couple of people who had expensive repairs because of those labels.
