Anyone know how to get at the lamps in the third brake light on a 96 Pontiac Grand Am for replacement. There are no screws on the housing and after much pulling and wiggling it just won't come down. Is there a secret release somewhere? Found no hits on Google, unfortunately.

on the side you have to stick like a flatblade screwdriver into the housing and it releases a little metal clip. I had to fidit with it for a while to get it to come loose. Its described how to do it in the Owners Manual FYI. Look for the section on lamp replacement
Oops, i meant to say, on "both sides". What you do is kneel down on the back seat facing the rear window, you need to use a flatblade screwdriver on BOTH sides to loosen the 2 clips that hold the cover on . Be carefull not to pull the whole damn thing off the roof.
