1994 Grand Prix key stuck in ignition

May 12, 2004 1 Replies

I have a 1994 Grand Prix. The key got stuck in the ignition switch and I finally got it out, but I really have to fight with it to get the car to start or to get the key out now. Does anyone know if this means the ignition tumbler assembly needs changed, or the mechanism that controls the rod that connects to the actual electrical switch?

I measured the switch and it is key 15 in the VATS system.

Thanks for any input.

Your key is probably bent now. A close visual inspection of the key should suffice to determine.
