i have an 01 grand am se 2.4ltr. it won't start. the engine turns just like new, or at least i don't notice a difference from the day i bought it. i have a manual and it said that it could be anything from the fuel pump to a bad wire! i suspect it is the ignition coils but i don't know. any help would be appreciated thanx

If you suspect the ignition system then it's important for you to verify whether or not you're getting a spark. I would not replace the coils based only on a hunch. You should be able to rig up something similar to the spark plug jumper wire set that is shown in your manual to find out.
Spark or no spark will determine your next step.
