Heater Problems

Yes well dad has a 2000 pontiac montana and the heater doesnt work at all , we have no idea whats wrong with it, you can let the engine warm up and it still wont work, so can anyone help?

Is it blowing cold air, or no air?

There are two possibilities, and only two. These are:

  1. Hot water isn't flowing through the heater. You can figure that out pretty easily by feeling pipes to/from the heater core as close as you can get to it
  2. Air is not flowing through the heater core. This is controlled by a damper that's hooked to the hot/cold control. The damper may be unhooked. That's a little harder to figure out.
