Yes, several times. Be sure to tap the end without the retaining "tang" and don't slip and scratch the crank. Coat the replacement liberally with lubriplate, stick to bottom half of crank and spin it right on around. The thrust one can be a bear, so I wouldn't replace that half unless you know it is bad.

I used to use Kendall GT1 untill it got hard to get. I've used Castrol GTX for many years - currently running Havoline (which I have also used extensively in the past).
I have also used a generic All-Fleet oil made by Valvoline, as well as Shell Rotella and Shell Super in years past.
Quaker State and Penzoil are my last choice of major brand names.(althogh the quaker state supreme used to be a pretty decent oil, I found it was a high parafin oil - with the advantages AND disadvantages that go with it - including serious "wax" buildup in some engines)
