Pontiac G6 GTP coupe review

A pretty fair review, GM is headed in the right direction, I test drove a GTP and it actually threw me into the back of the seat, which is a good sign, a 5 speed automatic fo 6 speed manual would have been better though.

The article also states that the big 3.9 v6 should be putting out a lot more that just 240hp. And the culprit is the antiquated pushrod engine. The japanese are putting out that amount of hp with smaller engines which are also more efficient.

True, the torque curve on the 3.9 peaks out earlier, gas mileage is slightly lower as well.

I do wish GM would ditch the whole series of motors, What would be nice is a G6 coupe with the supercharged ecotec motor out of the SS cobalt, those do not put out 200HP as listed, I think that number is doctored down a bit. With that plus the weight savings of using an aluminum SC'ed 4 cylinder would make the car scream.

Pontiac Sunfire depending on what angle you look at it. Its a shame Pontiac styling has been reduced to this.

be better if they used the 2.4 ecotec out of the vibe gt, would yeild more power if boosting it. On a side note, the canadian market now has the pursuit gt with the same engine, coupe or sedan with 171 hp, 17" wheels, 4 wheel discs, moonroof, in dad mp3, etc for $22,195 canadian, had a glance at one the other day, half tempted into getting one, they look really good. Its basically a cobalt with some different panels but i really like the look of it
