I think Chevy needs to stop using "litres" to designate their engine displacement if they are going to put an "SS" or "GTO" or "Chevelle" or "Corvette" badge on something, it just seems wrong.

I agree with that. On the '05 they're gonna have a "6.0" badge and that doesn't have the same ring to it that the CI badges had. But I guess if they went back to CI most people wouldn't have a damn idea about the engine size anymore. "Hey, that car badge says it has a 4.96 liter engine! We can take it!"

Didn't the early GTO's have a 6.5 liter designation?

Makes me almost want to wait for 2005 ...

GM releasing this info now isn't going to help GTO sales ..

Guess not. BTW, have you seen any 04 GTOs out your way? I haven't seen one on the road yet here in Milwaukee.

I've seen a yellow and red GTO running around Madison. The guy with the red one works up the street a couple miles from my work.

You might want to take Friday off and head up to Port Washington for the Hot Rod Power Tour's stop off at Imagine Motorsports 10am to 2pm, (formerly Aloha Automotive Services), there you'll be able to see the HRSS, a 2004 GTO retro modified to resemble a 70 Chevelle.

The HRSS was built by Imagine Motorsports for the HRPT. Dynoed out at 625 HP!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to make it out there.

Let me know if you need driving instructions to Imagine MS. (it's in an industrial park but easy to get to.)

Ok nevermind, I've always seen older camaros vettes and firebirds around here with CI designations.

That may be helpful. Thanks.

Take I-43 north, get off at exit #93, at the top of the ramp, go to the right (north) towards Port Washington, go appx. 2 miles turn right on Maritime Drive (LL goes the other way) follow Maritime Drive to Imagine MS. If you pass Boucher Chevrolet, you went too far.
