throttle sticking

Feb 04, 2005 2 Replies

I have a 1999 Bonnie with a normally asperated 3.8L V-6. At various times while stopped at a light or stop sign, and in parking lots, any time you go from idle (foot off of the accelerator) and to just a slight off idle condition the accelerator does not want to go down. This happens also with the engine off and trying to move the linkage at the throttle body. Throttle plate sticking in throat of throttle body????

Why don't you post this a few more times rather than waiting for an answer?

LOL

In any event, as to the OP question: If you can feel it sticking by hand, then you are the only one who is going to figure out why. No can diagnose this one with bandwidth magic. I would thoroughly clean the throttle body (tooth brush and spray TB cleaner), and unhook the throttle cable (and trans or CC cables) and see if the problem persists. GW
