Can you programme a second hand keyfob to work on a 1998 996 C2 I lost my spare key and have bought a spare working unit but have been told by Porsche that I need an "Ipass" code to mate the key to the ECU.
This code is supplied with a new key but I don't have it with the second hand one I bought. Can the chip on the PCB be read or should I just throw it away and buy one from Porsche and re mortgage the house??
Would appreciate any help or information or indeed contacts who may be able to do this, as I am sure it can as the sale of second hand keys on Ebay is quick and costly. Perhaps bars all over the world are covered in Porsche keys with smiles from would be owners !!!! Naa that's just me being silly, nobody would do that would they?
