Unfortunately Parker's price guide

describes the 600 series as being plentiful with little demand, so at nearly two and half grand most people would prefer something newer than R reg or more prestigious than a Rover - the insurance grouping also counts against it.

FWIW, I paid £400 for an N reg 620SLDi (from Nottingham last Christmas) and although it is hardly in fantastic condition, it's less than a quarter of your price and more practical...
