1988 900 non turbo missing exhaust stud

Missing stud and nut on exhaust manifold pipe that connects to exhaust pipe going under car. Anyone know the thread sizes for a replacement. Would consider using a bolt if I cannot find replacement stud. Any ideas?

Thanks, Alan

I think SAAB has traditionally used M8x1.25 studs. You can get them at regular parts stores. They are grade 10.9.

A few places sell exhaust stud repair kits. I bought one from parts for saabs in the uk not too long ago.

Craig.

What does the 'grade 10.9' mean if you don't mind me asking? I presume it's something to do with the tensile strength and/or hardness of the steel?

Regards,

Craig.

Yes. Metric strength grade. 10.9 is about the max you will find in a normal hardware store. US grades are numbers like "5" or "8" (an 8 being the same as a 10.9; a 5 is the same as the next common metric down, 8.something).
