900S 1988 Saab Won't Start...Help Please!

Things I have already checked or replaced:

Installed new spark plugs and have great spark Checked fuel pump, no power to pump or fuse to pump Installed a jumper wire from the ignition fuse to pump fuse now have power to fuel pump Installed new fuel filter and am receiving fuel to the injectors but car still will not run I was told there are two relays under passenger side of dash over the computer box Checked two relays there and they seem to be fine opening and closing

My dilemma is:

1st - Why did I have to put a jumper wire from the ignition fuse to the pump fuse to make pump run? 2nd - After I get the pump running with the jumper wire...Why are the injectors not injecting? What am I overlooking?

Frustrated beyond all reason Crazycamp

Either because the fuel pump relay is dead (common, but I don't think it's the problem here), or because you have a problem elsewhere.

Because the ECU is either not getting a signal to tell it the engine's turning over, or it is getting a signal but is failing to switch the injectors (and the fuel pump).

The ECU gets it's revs signal from the distributor. Now, you say you're getting good spark, that means the distributor is outputting signal OK, but either it's not getting to the ECU, or the ECU is dead.

Check/clean/wiggle the connector at the distributor, see if that makes any difference. Remove the big plug on the ECU and re-seat it. Let us know what happens.
