difficult to remove ac ? (900i)

I'd like to remove the (retro-fitted) AC unit for overhaul. Is it difficult ? Do I need to worry about timing and settings and stuff? I've never done anything like this, but I'm guessing I can loosen the belts; take off the AC unit; thus leaving the AC unit unbelted of course; and perhaps renew the existing (drive?) belt while I am at it. Thanks, tom

It's really easy to remove A/C system parts, you do need to have the freon charge evacuated if present though and you'll have to replace the filter/dryer when you reassemble.

Easy? On my 900T, a previous owner lost the air, so chopped the lines with a pair of boltcutters and unbolted everything! How easy's that? (Not recommended though). Seriously - pretty easy, but if you've got the original freon charge, please get it evacuated professionally. Cheers
