Why would you want to do that, exactly? The engine management system in your car is significantly more sophisticated than anything that you can run by hand.

Hello again, To advance the car for lpg and cng usage. Timing is critical with any fuel, and although cars run ok on gas with standard timing, more efficiency can be obtained by fitting an advance mechanism whilst running on alternative fuels.
I would like to know which wire carries the hall effect signal from the dizzy to the amplifier, and whether the engine has one or two signals for ignition. :)
The MSD unit I use intercepts the leads to the coil to modify timing. Do not know how this helps, but that is what I do. That is on my '91 900T.
