rough acceleration when engine cold

I have a SAAB 900 SE convertible turbo. car acts as if it is missing on a cylinder when pulling away and accelerating. once the engine warms up the problem disappears. the car has had a full service so the normal causes have been eliminated. it has been suggest that the ECU might be at fault, but why when only cold?

Then the service hasn't been effective. Renew spark plugs? Which year? Does it have DI cassette?

It is unlikely to be an ecu problem, depending on the year di cartridges are common problems with turbo's but they are not cheap. A saab garage or specialist should have a test di but you would have to leave the car with them overnight for a cold test.

Agree. I'd be suspecting plugs first or else a plug lead that's reached its use by date. What year? Might help to narrow it down (e.g: on an old K-jet engine I'd be testing mechanical injectors next, but that's obviously not going to be the prob here). Cheers
