Saab 9-5 V6 3.0 Diesel

I heard that this engine has or had some problems, like "stalling", sudden powerincrese with same throttle setting etc. Looks like an electrical problem. Anybody has some more information?

i got my vector sport as an ex dealer demo with 11k miles on it - now just under 70k....

i went for this one rather than the old 2.2 as it is much quieter (and a lot better acceleration).

Note the V6 diesel is manual only - which the dealers claimed was why they didnt sell so well.

mine has been OK - more turbo lag than the new 1.9 diesel though.

it is easy to stall when starting off - but i put that down to me being clumsy....

look here for some mention of SAAB recalls to fix a few issues on the V6:

Thanks, 3 recalls. one might think that they fixed the problem. So a dealer maintained car shouldn't be a problem. By the way, is EUR 10.000 for a 2001 stationwagon with 107.000 km a good deal?

no idea - and it probably varies by country.

there is a standard book here with resale values and table for mileage, condition etc.

__ I paid 11,000 euros for a fully loaded 2003 Vector 3.0 TiD sedan (with

140,000 km though) in Germany. However, I s'pose you're buying a UK version. TW

Nope, plan on buying one at autohus.de They have "new" 9-5's like every week. UK versions are soo inconveniant here in the Netherlands ;-) But the price you're talking about is quite ok as well. I'm not looking for a sedan version though.
