Saab noise problems

Hello

Is ther anyone out ther who can help. I have a 1998 Saab 9-5. I have a recurring rubble/whinning noise problem. The noise tends to start when accelerating brisky and begins when I reach around 50mph. I also get a vibration through the accelerator pedal at the same time, If I lift off the accelerator, the noise disappears instantly. I have been to a Saab specialist but can not find a problem. Please somebody help. Driving me mad. Thanks

Not sure what you mean by the noise but from the circumstances I'd want to check the engine and gearbox mounts.

I just had my 99 9-5's engine rebuilt after a piston cracked. Long before piston gave out, i too had a low rumble. I didn't know what it was. The mech discovered that the gears on the balancing shafts were missing several of the teeth. This caused the rods to be "less than effective". Now that those are replaced and functioning properly, the engine is much smoother.

Big Help. I will mention this to my Mechanic. Thanks Again

I also understand that a fair number of people remove the balance shafts with no ill effects. I don't know much about the subject more than "it's done".
