I have a 2001 9-3. I've seen the "Service Theft Alarm" message a few times in the past year, but I ignored it. Recently, the theft alarm has been going off for no reason, and I have been unable to turn it off. Pressing the unlock button on my key doesn't stop it. I tried pulling a number of fuses related to DICE/TWICE (in the dashboard fuse box), but that didn't stop the alarm either. Eventually (but not before the neighbors get really angry), the alarm stops by itself. What can I do to disable the alarm until I can get the car in for service??
Theft alarm on 9-3

Here's a long shot. My '93 9000 alarm system used to go off spontainiously. Unlike yours, it would quit when I opened the door locks with the remote transmitter. I finally traced the problem to the relay that controls the interior lights! Seems when the relay "closed" for no good reason, the lights came on as they should but the theft computer "reasoned" that the lights coming on ment that the door was being opened and triggered the alarm. BIZZARE! Replaced the relay. No more problem. Happy neighbors and church goers! Good Luck!
