My girlfriend is considering buying an '88 Saab 900s, most of my car experience has been with Volvos but I like Saabs too. Is there anything I should be familiar with when I go to look at this car? Any common problems or things to look out for? It has 154k miles on it which strikes me as relatively low.
The only problem the owner mentioned is a slight gasoline odor inside after sitting for a couple weeks, is there something common that would cause this? Thanks.
I have an '88 900s, no real problems in 198000 miles. Starts a little hard when its 10 below, but I start a little hard in that weather too! Some body rust around the edges, but nothing too nasty to look at. I am proud to park it next to the guys at work with their fancy (and financed!) cars. James F. Hodgdon Jr. Hodgdon Scale Models
I got one: the headliner is gone, and i understand this is a common problem; the aircon is gone - common too i think; other than that - its great. regards, tom
