I'm thinking of getting a second hand cruise control unit for my year 1999
Not being mechanically minded, where would I look for this to see if I have it or not?

RIght on top of the engine, it covers up the spark plugs. Assuming the I-4 engine, it's rectangular, and, well, either red or black.
Here's a red one as fitted to Trionic 5 engines, black ones go on Trionic 7 engines (like my 9-5).

The DI has nothing at all to do with getting a cruise control.
You will however have to tell the Trionic engine management afterwards, that it now has CC. This can only be done with the Tech-II tester.

I think the colour of the DI cassette is just being used as an easily checkable way of telling the two engine management systems apart.
Black cassette = Trionic 7 = electronic throttle. Red cassette = Trionic 5 = cable throttle.
Not sure how foolproof it is though. Were there any Trionic 5s with electronic throttles but no cruise, or Trionic 7's with cable throttles, etc?
