front end noise

got a 2000 SL1 with 150000km's on it and have a very bad noise on the right front side, guy at grage told me that it was the wheel bearing, so i changed it and it is still doing the same. The noise goes away if i turn to the right but comes back when i drive. Does anybody have any ideals??

i would start cheap, check your break pad, i know, sounds odd, but there is a clip that holds the pad in, and it a little wider then the torque plate, so when the pad gets low, not even change time low, it rubs and make a god awfal sound. Other then that, as Napalm Heart said, probibly CV Joint.

Good Luck

Engine mount.

$200 if you have someone do it for you. $90 if you do it yourself. If it's the upper torque mount (mine was), it's really easy to get to. Just make sure you support the engine when you take it out.

Was $90 the dealer price?

Same here. Upper motor mount. Maybe $80 for the mount and few bolts needed. I already had a floor jack to support the engine. If you look at the mount and see a large gap around it, it's shot. If you go too long, you may be sitting on your oil pan. B~

I got new mounts at the local dealer yesterday... and indeed $90 is the list price. I tried begging and pleading for some sort of discount off of list but no luck. They claim that nobody gets a discount off of list. (Actually I remember buying parts from them 6 or so years ago and they were giving me a slight discount off of list back then, I think.)

The lower (dogbone) mount is about the same cost (even though it's substantially less rubber).

Like I complained about a week or two ago, all the dealer parts prices have recently doubled or tripled for the S-series stuff.

NAPA should have an upper mount for me there today........$43. The last one I put on from them seemed to hold up OK, but like I said, the lower dogbone; I would either get dealer, or an aftermarket that isn't made by anchor. I think the crappy anchor one was somewhere in the zone of $30 but I can't remember for sure.
