If it's the same as my '96 SL2 they are indeed regular Torx. If you don't have the room to get a socket and ratchet on it I found that you can use a 8mm box ratchet designed for side battery terminals. Being a 6-point the flats were wide enough to go across the Torx points and allow the bolt to be turned out.
