1953 stude chop top on e-bay

Hello: Anyone have a opinion on this car? Well not bad,not perfect. Bad job on drivers door panel,Gap on front of hood above griill may be off,why leave the clutch pedal still in place? Chrome strip by tonneau cover looks off, carpet in front by shifter not cut great,no mention if frame has been braced. Mention of door hinge adjustment, may be a more serious situation.

regards,Sheldon

Is this the car?

If you follow the link it's got additional pictures, including a couple of the underside. I don't see ANY additional bracing, NOT a good thing on one of these, they weren't all that strong even with the roof.

Needs new bushings in the A arms (minor but...).

I also like the way they painted under the dash... very through job, heater core, wires, everything all painted overspray red.

And it's not a convertible, it has a top you put up like a tent.

For the right price, if you had the tools and skill to make it right this could be a very cool car, and a 53 convertible is a flat out gorgeous car.

But I wouldn't buy the thing and just expect to be able to enjoy driving it anything like regularly and safely without some pretty serious work.

Very nice looking car... I really like hos body treatment around the boot area.. To heck with his top... Car has some good looking lines... Jeff

Look at the wear on the brake pedal. That is a 168K mile car not a 68K.
