Cinglar Airport G3 is fast approaching strike three

5 hours with a tech at Cingular and the card doesn't work with Bluetooth. Not a real big deal except for 5 hours getting it to start to work, then it only having just 1 bar at work ( you know the Cingular bar thing) and the not even one bar here at the house (BIG STRIKE) and then hearing a possible strike in the Savannah area. I think it won't last a week! Technology is not there yet at least in Florida! I like the simple life of Studebakers!

5 hours online with a tech? I would have taken the card back after the first hour.

I get 3G here at the house and while on the road I-80, have never tried it on I-95. Why so long on the phone.? I did find one issue with the Cingular card. Their program Communications Manager has to be turned off as the default. (GSM) Go into options in Explorer and turn off the dial whenever I connect. It took me a while to catch on.

I just spent the week with a management type that had that card in his laptop. Never missed a beat. Connected ALL the time (all through NC and SC).. Sometimes the download speed was slow, but there was always a connection... Jeff (But my Palm Treo is a pita...)

I like the functions of the Treo 750.. Size fits nice in hand... Keyboard not too teeny for my fat fingers. Camera decent, but no flash. Things I don't like.... Touch screen will do stuff when you are talking on the phone and your cheek bone touches the screen... (You never know 'what' you are activating.. I hung up on people three times that way).. You need to wear your glasses to do anything with it. The touch pad screen dialing part is nice. The file storage is nice. Excel, Word, Outlook...OK. The synch part sucked. Sucked my entire e-mail address book into it as the phonebook. Took a few gyrations to figure out how to delete the whole phonebook. My conclusion? Take a real computer (laptop) and just use a regular cell phone.... But that's just me. Jeff

Last fall, I finally succumbed to getting a pre paid cell phone for emergencies only and while traveling.

All I wanted was a comfortable sized phone with big buttons and no features other than dial the number period.

No such thing.

Grrrr
