I just got a message from E-Bay, starting January 30th they're increasing their fees and commissions. Looks like it's going to cost $10 more ($50) to list a vehicle. On parts, it looks like insertion fees will being going up about 5 cents to 40 cents for items starting under $10, and commissions will go from 3% to 3.25%.

Yes. Thought about that a bit too. The 5¢ and the 1/4% increase in final value probably will not affect my selling of parts and personal items. Where else can I sell year round? Garage sales only run in Minnesota May thru October. Ice skates and Tip Ups don't sell well in Summer.
I don't have anything other than parts cars to sell so the $50 fee won't affect me right now.
Maybe $50 will cause some sellers to price more realistically or set conservative reserves. OTOH it may drive business to competing sites. If I was going to try selling a car and was not pressed for time I would try a few other sites that are less expense. . . . and fish those waters first.

I can understand MODEST price incresases but the listing cost for cars went up 25% and for motorcycles it went up by 33%.... that just seems a bit steep. The e-mail I got does not show whether final value fees are going to increase or not.
also, reserve price fees went up 100% for any car valued at over $10k...
I wish I could increase prices like that and still have customers....
