living(?) in Ohio

hey, I'll throw up a post here to show that I'm alive and kicking. I've got a 52 Commander 4-door, well, the top 3/4 of it anyway. I've been kicking around the idea of setting it on a new floorpan that would sit on a Chevy S-10 frame. the frame it's got now is not as bad as the floor, but it's beyond saving. the v-8 engine though, all I had to do to it was put in some pistons that didn't have the rings frozen in to them. it was in great shape inside, not even a ridge at the top of the cylinders, and the odometer showed 3,000 miles. there were two oil change stickers on the door post, one said ' next oil change,

97,xxx, due 12-61. the other was a little older. if the driver put the last 6000 miles on as fast as the 3000 between those two oil change stickers, this vehicle was parked in 1963. pistons, rings, gaskets, she fired right up. too bad the rest of the car is in such bad shape. anyway, considering the s-10 because the wheelbase is only 2.9 longer, and can easily be shortened that much, looking at the Stude crash sheets and the s-10 frame specs, the frames are amazingly similar except for behind the rear wheels. I know the idea of putting a Chevy/ Stude combo together will bother some, but this is the only way I can see this car getting back on the road. the engine, well, I've been thinking about putting together a sawmill......
