This is a really neat model airplane -- truly amazing! Make sure you click on the movie link at the bottom of the page to watch the movie of it in flight and turn up the sound. NOW HERE'S A REAL MODEL AIRPLANE !!! Actually has 8 "real turbines" at about $1500 each! Took over 2 years to build. It has a wing span of about 22 feet. Takes multiple pilots, as there are so many things to control. Think they were nervous during the maiden flight? Unbelievable that someone would make this - all real turbines! $12,000 just for the engines ! Check out the movie link below to see the first flight. AMAZING !!

Interesteing and awesome, by the looks of the T/O, he designed the wings as fuel cells as both wing tip wheels were on the ground, on landing the wing load was quite a bit less as the outboard landing gear was not touching. Plus the right one either broke off in flight, or did not deploy on landing.

I wonder what the visual impact would be if a "fleet" of those were flown over an enemy position? There would be no ability to determine actual height of the those planes by the naked eye. Could be an interesting way of getting an anti aircraft missile position to expose itself. Would be interesting to figure the geometry of flying a bunch them, and a bunch of

1:1's and determine the height difference between them, so the naked eye would think they were at the same flight level.

If I am correct, in the movie Top Gun, in the credits they made reference to the model makers, and also had credits for the pilots of the models.
