OT POLITCAL

Tonight on PBS a Frontline program lays out just exactly how we were misled into this war.

9:30-10:30 on the West coast. Blast me by email if you wish. Better yet, watch it and then tell me what points, if any, you think are not true.

I think that is an excellent idea. I do plan on watching it and hopefully learn something. Then, after watching it, I think it prudent that everyone contact their elected officials that voted as a group to proceed with this conflict. Contact them and ask them why they voted the way they did when they had all the information they later say they never had. The posturing of politicians to claim credit when things are going well, and the condemnation when things are not going well should also be examined. Then, an analysis of the reporting, or lack of, should also be investigated. Notice that I never one put a party name on any of this. It should be a bipartisan quest for truth. Not just part of the truth, but all of it. Jeff

Didn't we just see that series? It ran non stop and ended on November 7th, didn't it?

I for one, do care about how we got in, who got us in, and the collective effort to deny responsibility for the voting process they participated in. And then the effort to tie the hands of the people we sent in to do the job we voted to tell them to do, so the job will not be able to be completed as planned. Now, when things are tough, all that seems important is the need to get out. We are a good 12 hours into the first hundred.... I am getting impatient ... Jeff

In reading your post, it appears you want comments sent to you directly. Is this correct?

That would be fine, as it keep down the number of posts here, that upset some or even a lot of people. I am always willing to hear the opposing side. If I can't counter it, I have even been known to change my mind.

As you will find out, most of those who voted to proceed did not " have all the information"! That is just the point.

Ha!!! Alex, this is no place to practice your amateur night routine for the comedy club.

Then that makes it a over three thousand times worse...( Using the current media death count as a reference point) First, I don't totally agree with your statement that they did not have all the information, but I'll tolerate it for the moment. Second. If those same people jump on a bandwagon and vote to go to war (or conflict) without fully knowing what they are faced with, and getting into, then they are derelict in their responsibilities as elected officials to protect our citizens, as written in our constitution. Now, I have not watched the program, so I will watch it and see what I can learn (as a citizen) what the program is trying to portray. Jeff

Glad I was able to tickle your funny bone. I actually do receive right wing emails daily. I worked 25 years with mostly conservative firemen. I like to us this Gallileo story, which is true. He was faced the death penalty for saying that the earth moved around the sun. The church leaders, the coservatives of their day,"knew" that the earth was the center of the universe. Gallileo knew he could prove his point to them if they would look through his telescope. They of course refused because they "knew" what the bible said. He was forced to recant his statements and lived out most of the rest of his life under house arrest. It took about 500 years for the church to admit they were wrong. Don't be afraid to look through the telesope.

Let me guess, this isn't the first time you've told that fascinating story. Did you tell your kids bedtime stories or just bore them to sleep?

Not the first time by a long shot. But of course, you ignore the point of the story. Do you doubt it's truth? I'm not afraid to look through others telescopes. I receive and read article from Townhall.com, The Wall Street journal. Newsmax, National Review, The Weekly Standard, Ann Coulter.com and others.

John,

I think it's worth pointing out that:

  1. The Congress demanded another round of voting on the authorization for Bush to invade Iraq... SO THEY COULD BE ON RECORD AS SUPPORTING IT.

  1. Saddam had already violated over a dozen UN resolutions to allow/comply with weapons inspections, which he ignored, before deporting the inspectors.

  2. Saddam had repeatedly violated the terms of the 1st Gulf War cease-fire, which I think justified Bush kicking his ass, with the goal-- and result-- of regime change.

  1. While Iraq may not have played a DIRECT role in 9/11, we know that Al-Quaida groups trained there. Could this have occurred without Saddam's at least tacit approval?

  2. Can we all agree that NO Democrat is going to take hard military action against Iran, when they demonstrate their military nuclear capability? I can only cite Carter and Clinton as examples of Democratic presidential resolve.

  1. With the beating that Bush has taken, what Republican president would dare draw a sword in the middle east again? I think the world will just have to accept whatever aggression the Iranians commit, because of the actions of the American left.

Yes, they wanted to look good, but many of them would not have voted for it if they knew at the time how they were being lied too

A half truth here. He allowed them back in in 2002.

The question that needs to be asked is not whether he needed his ass kicked but whether the result would be worse than leaving him in place. It should be obviouse to anyone with a brain that both we and the Iraqi's are much worse off.

Yes. The lone camp was in the North near the Kurd area. Saddam had no power at all in the area and could not send his troops there. Saddam was an enemy of Al Queda.

No, we can't agree. We could agree though that no Democrat today, would lie us into a war.

Yes, that is the mess caused by shrub's reckless adventure that has busted our military and our budget and our standing in the world. That was what caused Bush senior to break down crying in that speech. He realizes the damage done to us and to the Bush family legacy when the wrong son ended up as president.

Bleeding heart liberals are afraid the troops might shoot a drug runner or coyote, so would prefer that an unarmed guardsman to shot instead. Where did the insane idea of open borders come from? The demented mind of KarlMarx & his Communist Manifesto. Georgie Boy has already made it clear that he intends to abolish the United States and replace it with a North American Region which will consist of the US, Mexico, & Canada. That is why his father, formerly the chairman of the Trilateral Commission and CFR member George Herbert Walker Bush, mentioned his New World Order publicly over 200 times while President. His 2 middle names come from his grandfather, George Herbert Walker, who, like Prescott Bush, was a skull. GW is a 4th geneartion skull.

Ronald Reagan said that a nation which can not control its borders is not a nation anymore.

I wondered when someone might bring up the "skull". I've been alluding to the "new world order" over in the thread we had going on global warming. Have you read "The Creature From Jekyll Island"? A real eye-opener when it comes to the "new world order", the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers, Rothschild, JP Morgan, the Fabian Society and many others.

Ah yes, all the catch phrases of the lunatic right. "Bilderbergers, Rothschild, JP Morgan, the Fabian Society and many others" I think I see some black helicopters approaching. What to do, what to do??? Get under the tinfoil pyramid or just give up and drink the cool-aid? .

Oh golly whiz Alex, you mean those groups are all a figment of my wild imagination? You need to do some more reading, particularly about Rothschild.

Pyramid? What pyramid? Do you mean the Knights Templar => Freemasons?

Talk about KoolAid - the left always wants us to drink the KoolAid they've prepared especially for all the drones and lemmings.

All of a sudden, Alex is shilling for the Bushes! How cute!- I wonder what kind of Kool-Aid he's been drinking??? lol! Yes, I am familiar with the book you mentioned, and also would like to own Eustace Mullin's book on the same subject. (Though I have a good library already) Liberals must resort to sarcasm & insults when confronted with the truth, because they can not deal with facts which contradict their pre-conceived notions. They call everyone who would dare to discuss America's continuing loss of freedom "fascists", but there are many on the left who do not like the bankers' new world order, either. It is not really a left-right thing, it is a freedom thing. BH
