OT- went to Harbor Freight yesterday

Armed with a sale flyer through the mail and some of the coupons Jeff Rice kindly posted, the wife and I made a run to Harbor Freight in York, PA. I had a few things I wanted, one being a cement mixer that was on sale. My flyer said 15% off any one item using the coupon on the back. The cement mixer was regular $249.99, sale $199.99. So, with the 15% additional I got it for $169.99. Then I proceeded to rack up another $131 in small items, with tax a total outlay of $318+. I just can't pass up the six pairs of leather-palm work gloves for $4.99, the mechanic stethoscope for $1.99 (even though I already have one), 25-foot coil-up air hose for $1.99 and so on. My wife always finds something she "needs" too, like a hamburger press and an ultra-sonic jewelry cleaner. Then on the way back we decided to take a more in-depth look at the Ollie's store in York (for you non-Pennsylvanians/Marylanders- Ollies is like a Big Lots only with much neater stuff). I ended up laying out another $62+ there for stuff I didn't realize I needed (good buy on ink-jet photo paper). Wrapped up the shopping by having a super lunch at the new Logan's Roadhouse in York (don't miss it next time you make the York Meet- it's just on the north side of 30 where the road to the fairground intersects it). All in all, a good day even if I did go over budget. Paul Johnson

Wil Rogers said a good deal never hurt anyone, but too many good deals can put you in the poor house.
