rear step bumper...

I swear I've seen a near-identical step bumper on a Stude truck (dodge bed) before - same mfgr, or same part?

It is very similiar to three bumpers I own, two which came off P2(dodge box) equipped trucks. I would guess same manufacturer, probably not same part # though a side by side comparison would tell the tale.

Have you gone to look at this N8?? I always thought a Champ OHV or Stude V8 swap would be neat in one of these.

No, it is out of my price range but the seller appears to be a shop specializing in Scouts so I may make a trip up there (only about 30 miles away from me) at some point. Heck, if I could just find a rust free Scout II body my dad has a good running '76 that is just too rusty to patch...

Is that a slant 4 engine in there?

Should be the 196 4-scylinder. Basically, the old IH 392 split in half.

I didn't know they did that. Was it any more succeful than the half a Pontiac engine?

I have a 196 in my '67 Scout 800 here at the farm. It is basically a bullet-proof engine

Lee, I have a rebuilt head, and a gasket set for a 196. Maybe some other parts. I could bring them to the meet in SB. You want?

Gord Richmond

It's very tempting to have spares around, Gord. I am trying to decide what to do with this thing, actually. The 196 that is in there is freshly rebuilt and runs good but I am seriously considering a 266 V8 for it if I can find a parts truck reasonably.
