Some good luck for a change...

Finally had a chance to start up the parts car I got off ebay recently (thanks again Calvin!) and as suspected from the odometer and last tag, the car must be an honest fifty thousand mile car. The 289 sputtered to life after a little coaxing and ran beautiful. Carb is nasty, but everything else is fine. No stuck valves, great oil pressure, and no smoke after the "elixer" I had dumped in the cylinders burned off. Lazy me was running it with a can of carb cleaner until I realized the thing was running by itself....on OLD gas! Was put up back in the days of REAL gas! Too bad the body is toast. Already the car is distributing it's goodies... BUT, I better sell the engine/tranny FAST or I fear I will start looking for something to put it in!!! Studebaker George

I believe the car belonged to the fellow's "Uncle Dad" and was used rarely.

There has got to be a story there.
