Casual mention in a post to the NG of what I hoped to get for my NOS R-3 engine, currently in the Studebaker National Museum, brought me a buyer. Good news- the buyer had no problem with my price- is doing a big dollar restoration, needed a drive train. Bad news- he lives in San Diego. Paul Johnson

I imagine that it's sorta tough parting with the engine but OTOH, retirement forces some changes on how we do things and prioritize.
My major accomplishment is getting my little '83 Honda on the road and finally it is ready for inspection and already has temp tags. Gas money saved will be foolishly spent on Studebakers...

That's great news that you sold it. I hope he knows that he will have to disassemble the entire engine and go through it. It had been overseas and the salt water air has rusted the internals I'm sure. My buddy flew to Ireland when it was there, along with the R4.
