2005 outback dashboard display

I just bought an Outback sedan. On the dash is a display that can show outside temp, elapsed time, mpg, etc. A friend who's owned other brands with such a display said that usually you can also display other info if you know the secret handshake to enable their display. Does anyone know if this is possible to do this on a Subaru?

Thanks, Jason

Nope... I just got one too and last I had was a Jeep Grand CHerokee. It had it all. Truly, SUbaru missed the boat on a few things and this is one. I did do this though for the work around of the "xxxx miles until service"./.. I use the "A" trip meter for the oil change meter and reset after each oil change. Other than that, I am not really missing all the other crap. The compass in mirror accessory has satiated my longing for that dumb thing but, well, other than that, I didn't need to have "rear tail lamp" spelled out for me I guess!

Too bad though... They were not thinking... BUT... it is fast as hell and more economical than the jeep so, I can live with it!
