They are jackin you around...typical Subaru dealer philosophy.

Dealer Invoice means nothing. The number you need to start negotiations from is dealer cost. These are hard numbers. In Canada these are available through Carcost Canada .com or similar sort of website. You will have to pay about $20 for this information, but it's the only meaningful number based in fact. Even armed with these numbers the dealers still have a hold back based on the volume of units sold, or often when manufacturers need to clear inventory. Again, DEALER INVOICE MEANS NOTHING. It is simply a number that dealers want you to start negotiations from, don't fall for it.

All car dealers, not just Subaru, "jack you around". Funny story from a relative that is a retired car salesman: Potential buyer had done intensive internet search, came armed with information and demanded price on car which he was given. Family member said if buyer had negotiated further he probably could have saved another thousand dollars but relative was glad to accede to buyer demands and make an extra thousand dollar profit ;) Frank
