Is Liberty Mutual any good?

Nov 30, 2009 1 Replies

Hi All

I keep getting these enticing offered from Subaru and Liberty Mutual to change my auto policy over to them. Are they any good? I have had bad luck with other insurers and am a bit antsy to switch from the one I finally like to a new provider. Any comment on Liberty Mutual? Are they honest? Do they drop you after an accident? Have you ever caught them in bad faith? Yada, yada, yada.

Many thanks,

-T

p.s. had AAA total my car after one of there certified repair centers did not grind the needle and seat (a common problem of untrained mechanics) on my carburetor on my old 68 le Mans. AAA blamed the resulting fire (carburetor reservoir overfilled and flooded). To protect their dealer, they declared the catalytic converter the problem and claimed that an overfilled tranie had spurted oil out the dip stick on to it, causing the fire.

Dudes: no catalytic converter on a 68 anything. Plus I had the Fire Department report which clearly said it was the carburetor. Since I did not have the means to sue AAA for bad faith, I saw it as a hill I did not want to die on. What a bunch of dishonest so and so's. Needless to say, I switched providers. And the tranie was not overfilled. I have since talked to other bad faith victims of AAA who told me similar stories.

Bad sentence. Should have been:

AAA blamed the resulting fire (carburetor reservoir overfilled and flooded) on the catalytic converter.
